If the team is not doing so well the owner could be able to pressure you to sign a big name free agent in the objectives. Additionally the owner could be able to limit how much of the salary cap you can spend (idk if these all already in the game) to mimic the team losing money while being bad. Also maybe doing some arena attendance somehow based on how the team is doing.
