New Features Suggestions

For Hockey League Manager 27, I would like to see several new features to improve realism. First, the ability to place a player on waivers to terminate their contract. I’d also like press conferences that impact team morale, especially around key moments like the trade deadline and July 1st.

It would be interesting to have the option to play an injured player, balancing risk versus performance. Team chemistry should go beyond just player types, including locker room dynamics such as conflicts between players, team leaders, and the impact of trades on cohesion.

The trade market should be more realistic, with opposing GMs having distinct personalities, overvaluing their own players, and engaging in rumors and preliminary discussions before deals happen.

Finally, contract management should be deeper, including arbitration cases with realistic outcomes and the risk of damaging relationships with players.

a trade rumor mill would be a great idea and the GM personalities is interesting

Chemistry needs work in my opinion. If chemistry affects player development (as I’ve read in the past), then getting blue chemistry should be more attainable for defensive players. A defensive defenseman will never get blue chemistry. Just like a “checking line” won’t unless you add a sniper and a playmaker.

chemistry is actually how offensive a line is

Right. That is the way it is now. I think it should be tweaked for other types of lines. If it affects development, it shouldn’t be based purely on offense.

I like a lot of these suggestions. Not a fan of press conferences, but team morale would be a great feature, goes down when trading a good player away, goes up when signing a great player in free agency.

Arbitration is definetly something to look into. To be honest, I find when you put the contract slider all the way to performance, I dont really find any difference in the contract value. If a player that was in the minors and grew to 86 OVR over the summer needs a new contract, they should only be able to get a very low contract. You can’t ask for 8x8 with no games played in the NHL.

Long as we can turn Morale off.

Like, I do think it exists but, its more of a individual thing. Theres not a bunch of players every year demanding to be traded IRL but, with limited spots on teams and players wanting to get paid you would assume theres alot of players that are not happy where they are but, make due for the pay check. But, this is sorta already represented in the game via Player interest in sigining..when offering a contract you can click on the Interest meter and it tells you why theyre green, yellow or red. Imo, thats about as far as it should go. The change I would like to see to this is if the team or place they wanted to go didnt want that player then the change to the interest be faster. By the time it changes the player is willing to take alot less money.
