Some prospects are rated way too high in history mode. For example, Kucherov enters the draft with a rating of 90 already. Happens to others as well.
I’m pretty sure that’s a bug in the game
Yeah agreed with Fintan’s reply, this wasn’t an issue in any of the previous games, I can try and work on fixing these things but its really hard when there’s hundreds of players I would need to edit for the 2010 history mode etc… I can reach out to the dev and see what can be done but this isn’t the easiest thing to fix either.
Hey I know this guy!
Ive been playing a history mode game with your rosters, starting in 1970. First off, I want thank you for putting the work into this. Im enjoying it so much. Esposito is an absolute beast! Ive gotten him scoring more than 100 goals in a season multiple times now and over 200 points in a season. In this alternate times he is Gretzky, before Gretzky.
Im still playing this save into the 90s. One tweak I would suggest is on Cam Neely. You’ve correctly made him a power forward rather than a sniper but I would give him the Snipe specialty. He doesn’t produce the points that he should. Inthink this would help. I’d also give him give him the huge hit one.
New user here! On the 1980 historic career, I drafted an 18 year-old Dominik Hasek who has 92 OVR already in 1983. His potential is mid-starter.
Adding :some players enter the league at 0 after the draft : Uwe Krupp and Alexei Gusarov.
Replying to myself here. Players who come in at zero may be from unselected leagues? I noticed it with Europeans like Krupp, Zelepukin…. I tried giving a base rating of 40ish (roster editor) to Krupp but then he shooted up to 94 OVR at 22. Too high too fast.
There are some present day free agents/international players with missing stats. Some examples I’ve seen recently include Ilya Konovalov, Nail Yakupov, Taylor Beck, Jeff Kubiak, and Martin Lefebvre. It’s not so bad for players with no NHL experience, but for those who do, it can affect what teams they prefer signing with.
I’v had the same experience with Hasek. This is part of the reason why I suggested adding a stat to the next game version that dictates when a player is more likely to hit their peak OA. I also suggested one that would determine how long they were able to maintain their peak OA.
I completely agree with this. As someone who enjoys playing with the Swedish leagues, I would love to be able to keep younger players in J20/J18 teams and let them develop there instead of having to loan them out for an entire season.
It would make prospect development feel much more realistic and add another layer of team management.
